MEDIAPOLIS, INC. BUILDS WEB SITES FOR TWO PROMINENT HIV/AIDS GROUPS
LIFEBEAT, DIFFA SITES TO BE UNVEILED ON WORLD AIDS DAY

New York City, November 29, 1999 - Internet engineering firm Mediapolis, inc. announced today that it has employed its innovative Web publishing techniques to build sites for two major HIV/AIDS organizations, both of which will be unveiled on December 1st to coincide with World AIDS Day.

LIFEbeat, the Music Industry Fights AIDS (www.lifebeat.org) and the Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS (DIFFA, www.diffa.org) are the most recent additions to Mediapolis, inc.'s growing client roster of groups serving the gay and lesbian community and people with HIV/AIDS.

Mediapolis, inc. (http://www.mediapolis.com) is an interactive media company dedicated to applying its extensive experience in software design and systems analysis to create high volume, peak performance Web sites that run efficiently and are easily maintained.

LIFEbeat is the music industry's HIV/AIDS awareness and resource organization. DIFFA, one of the oldest and largest funders of HIV/AIDS assistance and instruction programs in the country, is supported by professionals in every field of fine design.

"We're thrilled to have the opportunity to utilize our technical talents for the benefit of LIFEbeat and DIFFA," said Mediapolis principal Carl Pritzkat. "Both organizations have vital messages to deliver about HIV/AIDS, and a strong Internet presence for each will help them do just that."

Timothy J. Rosta, executive director of LIFEbeat, agreed. "Our target audience is immersed in pop culture, and to reach them with our message about reducing HIV transmission we need to communicate through their medium of choice - the Internet," he said. "We're delighted that Mediapolis, inc. is helping us to do just that with such innovation and vision."

Mediapolis, inc. has lent its technical expertise to such prominent Web sites as boo.com, the online fashion retailer, and yourPharmacy.com, an online pharmacy whose commerce function was recently sold to PlanetRX. LIFEbeat and DIFFA join a growing roster of Mediapolis, inc. clients dedicated to battling HIV/AIDS and supporting the gay and lesbian community, including the Gay And Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD, www.glaad.org); Lambda Legal Defense & Education Fund (www.lambdalegal.org); Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network (GLSEN, www.glsen.org); Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund (www.victoryfund.org); Cable Positive (www.cablepostive.org), the cable industry's AIDS action organization; the AIDS Treatment Data Network (www.aidsinfonyc.org); HX Magazine (www.hx.com), the premiere magazine of lesbian/gay life in New York; and Q San Francisco Magazine (www.qsanfrancisco.com), the culture and lifestyle magazine for lesbian/gay San Francisco.
