SERVICEMEMBERS LEGAL DEFENSE NETWORK RELAUNCHES SITE
New Design by Mediapolis Emphasizes Group's Groundbreaking Work

WASHINGTON DC -- Servicemembers Legal Defense Network ("SLDN") announced today the relaunch of its highly-praised Web site, SLDN.org, using a new design provided by New York-based Mediapolis, inc. SLDN is a national, non-profit legal services, watchdog and policy organization dedicated to ending discrimination against and harassment of military personnel affected by "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" and related forms of intolerance.

The new design puts more focus on the organization's key initiatives, including its "Survival Guide," which provides vital information to military personnel about their rights, and its "Lift the Ban Petition," which collects names of users who are opposed to the military's ban on lesbian and gay servicemembers. The new design also clarifies the presentation of multiple documents in parts of the site that have grown over the past years.

"To the user, Web site design should facilitate the best user-experience; and to the operator of a site, it should reenforce key marketing elements. With our redesign of SLDN's site, we have accomplished both," said Mediapolis principal Carl Pritzkat. "The result is a tool which directly impacts SLDN's mission."

Since its founding in 1993, SLDN has provided legal assistance to more than 4,200 service members and has obtained more than three dozen changes to military policy and practice. During the same time, public support for gays in the military has grown from 53% to 72%, according to polls by the Gallup organization.

Mediapolis (www.mediapolis.com ) creates technology that simplifies the production of high profile, high performance Web sites. Since 1994, Mediapolis has used the Iowaš Software Suite to build more than 180 sites for clients including Sony Music, The New York Times, Johnson & Johnson and now Volvo Cars.
