THE NEW YORK TIMES' WQXR DEBUTS NEW LOOK
Radio Station's Web Site Updated and Improved

NEW YORK, NY -- WQXR, the classical music station of The New York Times, today debuted a new look and features for its popular Web site, WQXR.com.  The look was designed by New York-based Mediapolis, inc., which has been providing software and hosting for the site since 2001.

The site's new look brings it up to date with the look of its parent company's site, NYTimes.com.  It also integrates many of multi-media and headline elements from The Times' site.  The site now presents a more detailed view of WQXR programming as well as events and resources taking place in the arts community the station serves.  And users can now participate in daily polls which take their pulse on issues relating to that community.

"We're pleased to have helped WQXR take their already-successful site to a higher level," said Mediapolis principal, Carl Pritzkat.  "There's no doubt that the updated look and additional features will make the site even more popular with its tremendous audience."

Founded in 1936, 96.3 WQXR-FM was the nation's first commercial classical music radio station, and since 1944 it has been owned and operated by The New York Times Company (NYSE: NYT). The most listened-to classical station in the United States, with nearly a million listeners tuning in each week, WQXR also features regular news, analysis and commentary from correspondents of The New York Times.

Mediapolis (www.mediapolis.com ) creates technology that simplifies the production of high profile, high performance Web sites. Since 1994, Mediapolis has created custom software solutions to build more than 220 sites for clients including Sony Music, The New York Times, Johnson & Johnson and Volvo Cars.
